Lawrence E. Laubscher, Sr.

Lawrence E. Laubscher, Sr. holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Juris Doctor degrees from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C.  After initially obtaining engineering experience with an electrical public utility company and as a systems engineer on a Navy guided missile program, he has practiced patent, trademark and copyright law in Metropolitan Washington, D.C. and St. George, Utah.

One of his specialties is the representation of U.S. and foreign corporations and firms in obtaining U.S. Patent Protection on their inventions, including the patentability search and opinion, preparing, filing and prosecuting original patent applications, and obtaining corresponding foreign patent protection under the Patent Cooperation Treaty, European Patent and foreign national patent laws.  Similarly, with trademarks he counsels clients regarding the registrability of marks and the preparation, filing and prosecution of U.S. and foreign trademark applications and registrations.  He has extensive experience in counseling clients on matters of validity and infringement.

Larry is a member of the Patent Sections of the Bars of the District of Columbia, Utah and the American Bar Association, as well as a member of the Intellectual Property Law Association.  He is a past President of the Patent Lawyers Club of Washington, and for many years represented the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Virginia State Bar on the Commissioner’s Ad Hoc Committee which meets quarterly in an advisory capacity with the Commissioner of Patents and Trademarks.

His second language is German.
