Mike is the managing attorney of Laubscher & Fretwell. His practice covers a range of intellectual property fields, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. He has worked with individuals and businesses of all sizes, and has handled a variety of matters, including IP procurement and protection, strategic counsel, contract/licensing review, and litigation. He has expertise in IP generally, but more specifically in computer and software technologies, mechanical and electrical fields, branding, and advertising. A major portion of Mike’s practice involves building, maintaining and protecting trademark and patent portfolios, in the U.S. and worldwide.
Before joining the firm, Mike was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Marjorie L. Clagett, and before his career in law, Mike was a high school math teacher and lacrosse coach. Mike continues to coach lacrosse in his free time.
Mike earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of law, and his undergraduate degree from Loyola University Maryland, where he was also a member of the men’s lacrosse team.
